It All Starts with You
Every Crazy Maisie order begins with a customer — someone looking for something a little different. Whether it's a personalised pouch for a friend's birthday, an embroidered sweatshirt as a Christmas gift, or a mini backpack for a little one starting nursery, each order is unique and made especially for you.
When you place your order, we get to work straight away. Because everything is made to order, we don't hold large amounts of stock — which means less waste and a more sustainable approach to making things we love.
Choosing the Design
Our embroidery designs are carefully chosen to be timeless, charming, and wearable. From the cheerful Daisy and the whimsical Butterfly to the sweet Bee and the romantic Hearts, each design is digitised and programmed into our embroidery machine with precision.
For personalised items — like our pouches and backpacks — we set up each name or initial individually, checking spelling carefully before a single stitch is placed. (This is why we always ask you to double-check your personalisation details at checkout!)
The Embroidery Process
Once everything is set up, the embroidery machine gets to work — but it's not as simple as pressing a button! Each piece is carefully hooped (secured into a frame) to ensure the fabric sits perfectly flat and the design lands exactly where it should.
We watch every stitch, checking tension, colour, and placement as the design builds up layer by layer. Embroidery is a craft that rewards patience — and we take pride in getting every detail right.
Finishing by Hand
Once the embroidery is complete, each item is finished by hand. We trim any loose threads, remove the stabiliser from the back, and give everything a careful press to make sure it looks its absolute best before it's packed up.
For personalised items, we do one final check — making sure the name or initial matches exactly what you ordered. It's a small step, but an important one!
Packed with Love
Every order is packed carefully in our home studio in Co. Waterford — a pet and smoke-free environment — before heading out to its new home. Whether it's travelling across Ireland or further afield, we want every package to arrive feeling like a little gift in itself.
Why Made to Order Matters
We're proud to be a made-to-order business. It means your item is fresh, made just for you, and we're not sitting on piles of unsold stock. It's a more thoughtful, sustainable way to make things — and it means every order gets our full attention.
It does mean orders can take 4–5 working days to be made before they're dispatched — but we think the wait is worth it. Good things take time! 🧵
